I didn't LOVE the school but I didn't exactly hate it there either. The school academically was great! It had a lot of different courses and it well prepares you for college. However, socially I did not like the school. As a Haitian-American girl who had just moved to Greenwich in my freshman year, there weren't many people I could relate to. I luckily found my group eventually in my sophomore year but before that, I felt like an outsider since there is not much diversity.
Greenwich High School holds a special place in my heart as it has been my educational home for several years. As a student who has taken multiple AP classes, I've found the academic environment to be both challenging and rewarding. These courses have not only expanded my knowledge but have also prepared me for the rigors of college-level academics. Alongside my academic pursuits, I've actively participated in extracurricular activities such as soccer and volleyball, which have not only honed my athletic skills but also fostered camaraderie and teamwork. The vibrant and inclusive community at Greenwich High School has made every experience memorable and enriching. Furthermore, the school's modern facilities have provided me with the resources needed to excel both academically and socially. In essence, Greenwich High School has been instrumental in shaping my holistic growth, providing me with a supportive environment to thrive academically, athletically, and socially.
Overall I had a wonderful experience at Greenwich High School. My classes were very rigorous so in terms of preparing me for college education, I would say I am well prepared. I wish the school also made sure to teach life skills that are important for university and post university, such as managing finances and paying taxes. The food is also poor quality so I had to bring food from home. Unfortunatly, that isn't an option for everyone which is why it should be improved. However, the facilities make up for some of the schools faults. The preforming arts center, for instance, is a great space to make music, host performances, and bring the community together, all in the presence of a state of the art facility. Likewise, there have been renovations to the fields and the stadium. As of now the front entrance is being improved for students safety. Overall, a positive experience!
